About Sarah

The 2008 Sarah Parvin 24 Hour Memorial SoccerFest is the first of what will be an annual event held at the Quakertown Soccer Club in memory of one of our dearest players and friend, Sarah Alexandra Joan Parvin. Sarah Parvin was born on Sunday, March 21st in 1994 and passed at 12:00 noon on Good Friday, April 14th 2006 from Ovarian cancer. She was 12 years old.

The name of this tournament is misleading as this will not be so much a memorial, but a celebration of camaraderie, of lifeā¦of Sarah. Sarah was a cheerleader, a dancer, a performer and a soccer player. She was a daughter, a sister, a niece, a granddaughter and a friend. She was beautiful and she was intelligent. She had strength, courage and spirit. These words did not define her, she defined them. Sarah also had a faith that will serve as a shining example long after her passing. Sarah was charismatic, energetic and wellā¦amazing. The one thing Sarah never became was a victim. The Sarah Parvin Foundation was established to serve as a fundraising organization for cancer research by involving adults and children in a combined community event. This tournament will promote healthy life styles, positive community outreach and show that teamwork can provide positive results. It also establishes the knowledge in our children, children just like Sarah, that they can and do make a difference. The Sarah Parvin 24 Hour SoccerFest is a 6v6 soccer tournament unique in the fact it involves players from Under-9 up to over 30 yrs old, and with skill level divisions ranging from beginner/recreational/just for fun, up to āTravelā level (premier teams will be asked to play an age group up). The main portion of the tournament will be an EPYSA sanctioned U-9 to U-18 competitive tournament. The great part of this tournament is YOU THE PARENT can not only get your kids involved but now YOU can also be a participant in the 18-29 or over 30 divisions. Not only can you still watch your kids compete but they can watch you show your stuff! (Or get a good laugh) You choose your playing level. It will be a soccer tournament as you know it but much, much more! There will be live music, a FIFA ā08ā X-box/Playstation tournament, tethered hot air balloon rides, moon bounces, blow-up slides, a rock climbing wall, food, beverages and best of all a Tent City where your team can camp out for the night. There are also plenty of hotels close by for the non-campers.There will medals and shirts for all participants and trophies for the top two teams in each of the competitive divisions. There will be a special award for the top fundraising team or group!!!All proceeds from this amazing event will be donated to the American Cancer Society and the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition.
